World Maccabi Sports Association has forbidden all its members to participate in the Olympiad which is to take place in Germany in 1936.
The Voelkischer Beobachter, Hitler’s organ, reports today that a German woman was denied citizenship because she had married an alien Jew after the war and had embraced Judaism. The woman was later divorced and returned to Catholicism, but the court ruled that she cannot be given German citizenship now, since she had once been married to a Jew.
REICH CHIEF RABBI APPEALS FOR U. S. HELP TO YOUNG
The first statement ever made on the situation of the Jews in Germany by Dr. Leo Baeck, chief rabbi of Germany and president of the Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Juden, was made public here Friday in the form of a report on the work of settling German Jewish children in Palestine which appeals for continued support of that activity.
In the report Dr. Baeck wrote that it is planned to have 1,600 German Jewish children transferred from Germany to homes and settlements in Palestine by February of next year. He added that 800 children have already been placed in that country as of April 1 of this year.
