Women in Germany are organizing themselves into groups, pledged not to bear children while Hitler rules, Mrs. Clinton M. Barr, prominent Milwaukee clubwoman, said today on her return from a tour of Germany.
Most of the members are now young mothers who are determined to bear no further children while Hitler’s discrimination toward women continues, Mrs. Barr said.
Women by and large have become Hitler’s most powerful enemies, she added. At first, they were enthusiastic over the Nazi rulers when his many promises to improve the economic situation blinded them. Now, their hopes of better times shattered, the women are turning against Hitler, Mrs. Barr contended.
Her trip into Germany was made as a representative of the Women’s Congress Against War and Fascism which met in Paris during August.
