“Persecutions founded on racial or religious discrimination are inhuman, anti-Christian and barbarous,” it was declared in a statement issued here yesterday following the conclusion of the Inter-American Seminar on Social Studies, under the sponsorship of the National Catholic Welfare Conference.
The statement counselled sincere international collaboration after the war in order to “organize the world on a firm foundation.” It pointed out that “in the post-war world we wish to help Europe, Asia and indeed all mankind. But the fact is plain that upon the Americas rests the enormous burden of sharing the leadership of a good post-war world.”
