The remains of the famous Vischnitzer Rabbi, Israel Hager, were exhumed in the city of Oradea, Transylvania, for transfer to Israel where they will be reburied in the Orthodox Bnai Brak settlement.
Hundreds of the rabbi’s followers throughout Rumania attended the solemn ceremony. The remains will be shipped aboard the S.S. Transylvania which sails for Israel tomorrow, with 69 immigrants en route to the Jewish state. The coffin will be escorted to Israel by Rabbi David Sperber of Brasov, one of Rumania’s leading Orthodox rabbis.
