George Rockwell of Arlington, Va., founder of the “American Nazi Party,”and one of his followers, were convicted yesterday in Municipal Court here on charges of violating the Massachusetts “true name” law and fined $10 each.
The law forbids registration in a public accommodation under a false name. Rockwell and Roy James, 23, a cook at Rockwell’s Nazi headquarters in Arlington, were arrested by state police in Topsfield for violation of the law. The state police charged that during a visit to Boston on January 14, Rockwell registered himself in a Boston hotel as “Nathan Ginsburg, ” and that James was not registered at all.
