Three leaders of the Jewish Democratic Committee were named today in a huge list of honors published by the Praesidium of the National Assembly on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the liberation of Rumania.
The three, who were awarded the newly-created order of “Defense of the Fatherland” decoration, are Prof. Barbu Lazaroanu, president of the Committee; Bercu Feldmann, secretary-general, and Paul Davidovici, charge d’affaires of the Rumanian Legation in Tel Aviv, and a leader of the Committee. The honor list also includes several Jewish community leaders who received minor decorations, and a large number of Jewish workers who exceeded production quotas and were awarded the “Medal of Labor.”
