Rumanian Jews who have lived outside the borders of the country for six months or longer are required to pay ten times the normal tax levied on Jews in lieu of military service from which they are barred, it is reported today in the Prague paper, Nue Tag.
Jews who fail to pay the tax within six months will lose their Rumanian citizenship, the decree provides. Since most Rumanian Jews are without employment and funds as a result of the anti-Jewish laws there, the new order will facilitate their being deprived of their citizenship.
