Russian prosecutors canceled an arrest warrant for a wealthy businessman with Jewish roots after he agreed to return to Russia from France to face money- laundering charges. Boris Berezovsky, an oil and media tycoon who helped engineer President Boris Yeltsin’s re-election in 1996, has been losing political clout in recent months since Yevgeny Primakov became prime minister. Berezovsky has reportedly converted to Christianity, but has never hid his Jewish origins and has often spoken out against anti-Semitism in Russia.
