Relatives of Captain Georg Schmitt who is now in New York for the purpose of bringing American units of the Stahlhelm, German monarchist war veterans group, into line with the policies of the Nazi regime in Germany, declared today that they had no knowledge of his political activities.
Schmitt, as far as they know, they asserted, is a wine salesman and is in this country in connection with his business affairs. George F. Mayer, his uncle, and George F. Mayer, a cousin, said that Schmitt, some time ago, spent two years in this country, one year of which was in Milwaukee.
