The Polish Government-in-Exile has named Dr. Ignacy Schwartzbard, Zionist leader and former Sejm deputy, as the Jewish member of the Polish National Council, newly-created Polish Parliament of which Ignace Paderewski is the president.
Dr. Schwarzbard, who will represent Jewish national minority interests in the Council, escaped from Poland to Rumania in the early days of the war. The Polish Government has invited him to come here from Bucharest.
One of the vice-presidents of the Council is Dr. Herman Lieberman, one-time leader of the Polish Socialist Party and stormy petrel of Polish politics who was exiled in 1926.
