Scores of persons were injured, at least 15 seriously, when hand grenades exploded in the balcony of the Chen Cinema this evening shortly after the start of the second show at 10:20 p.m. Eyewitnesses said. that two or three grenades were thrown by unknown terrorists. Ambulances rushed to the theater on Dizengof Square, the center of downtown Tel Aviv, to remove the injured. The movie house was evacuated by police who cordoned off the entire area. The terrorists are believed to have concealed the grenades under overcoats they were wearing because of the cold, rainy weather. They were not detected by the security guard at the entrance to the theater.
