The Jewish community here was shocked today by an accident in which six Jews, five men and one woman, were killed. The victims met death almost instantly when the truck in which they were returning from the Laurentian Mountains collided headon with a street car.
The dead are B. Smalkin, 40; B. Hamet, 30; Benjamin Schwartz, 45; P. Adeland, 35; Leon Haber, 32, and Bella Zunik, 19. Eight others were injured.
Funeral services will be held for the entire group tomorrow.
