Philip Slomovitz, editor and publisher of the Detroit Jewish News, an English-Jewish weekly, has presented 1,700 books as a gift to the Jewish National and University Library here. The bulk of the volumes deal with Jewish subjects, mainly Jewish history and contemporary American Jewish problems and ideologies. A small number of the books are in Yiddish. Mr. Slomovitz said he would present additional books to the library, among them more Judaica and children’s books.
