Slovak officials indicated they are willing to consider requests from Jewish leaders that state-run land originally owned by Holocaust victims be returned to the rightful heirs. The officials also said they may be prepared to set aside part of the profit the government receives from rent of the land to help preserve Jewish cultural sites.
