Revelations of the deepest interest to Jews throughout the world and to students of archaeology were made yesterday in the “Sunday Express” by Col. Cyril Foley.
Col. Foley, who headed a British archaeological expedition to Palestine, relates the story of an alleged excavation of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem in a search for the Ark of the Covenant undertaken by the expedition.
Col. Foley states that he was first approached in June 1919 with the suggestion to form a party to discover the Ark. The expedition was to be guided by the directions and measurements given in the text of the Prophet Ezekiel. No definite data has yet been given by Col. Foley, the article in the “Sunday Express” being merely an introduction, the author promising to continue the relation of the story in forthcoming issues.
