The tenth anniversary of the establishment of Jewish collective farms in the Soviet Republic of Uzbek in Middle Asid was celebrated today by the Uzbekistan Government.
Thirteen percent of the 25,000 Jews of the Republic are now engaged in farming, according to recent figures. They have their own dialect, which is used in their schools. They publish a newspaper in that language and another in Yiddish.
