Israeli Military police, under strong armed escort, tonight transferred a group of detained Sternists from a nearby detention camp to Acre after the Sternists had first staged a mutiny and set the building in which they were held afire. The Sternists surrendered to the Israeli M.P.’s only after it became too dangerous for them to remain in the blazing building.

Meanwhile, members of the underground Stern Group today sent letters to several Hebrew newspapers warning that unless the Israeli Government releases detained members of the Stern Group, or makes formal charges against them and fixes a trial date within five days, they will launch a civil disobedience campaign and a hunger strike in all detention camps where Sternists are now held.

A group of Sternists last night raided the studies of the “Voice of Israel” radio station here in an attempt to seize the facilities and broadcast a political massage. However, their efforts were defeated by members of the security forces as signed to guard the station premises.
