The Supreme Court has rejected a request that the court examine the matter of draft exemption for yeshiva students which had been made by a reserve office, Israel Becker. A three-justice panel held that the applicant had no standing for such a request because he had not established evidence of a conflict between him and the Defense Minister against whom he had sought the order. The applicant had contended that calling of yeshiva students might shorten his active service but the court held he had not provided proof that this would actually be so.
