Switzerland announced that Rabbi Chaskel Besser, president of the Agudath Israel World Organization, has been appointed to the advisory council of a Swiss fund for Holocaust victims. The council helps establish eligibility criteria for the $185 million Holocaust Memorial Fund, which was set up last year by Swiss banks. The fund, which has distributed money to some survivors in Europe, is preparing to distribute money to needy survivors living in the United States.
