Syria’s foreign minister predicted that efforts to achieve a comprehensive Israeli-Arab peace will resume next year. “We hope to have in 2007 a peace process to settle the issue,” Walid Moualem said Monday, adding that his country “appreciates” debates in Israel on whether to return the Golan Heights to Damascus’ control under a future accord.
