The tabloid “Cronia,” which has a large circulation among the masses of the city, published on Yom Kippur an anti-Semitic cartoon by the famous Argentine cartoonist Basurto. The caption read, “Today is forgiveness day for everything except promissory notes.” “La Opinion,” a non-Jewish Buenos Aires daily, attacked Basurto for his “unholy and anti-Semitic” cartoon.
