The work of bringing unaffiliated Hebrew school teachers into the fold of the Hebrew Teachers Organization advanced with renewed vigor Friday following a one-day stoppage in all the Hebrew parochial schools and Talmud Torahs of Greater New York.
It is hoped that the walkout will not have to be repeated in order to gain higher salaries and the other demands of the teachers, Abraham Spirer, who directed Thursday’s demonstration, said Friday. Assurance of salary payments on time and vacations with pay are other objectives.
Mr. Spirer promised that the fight will go on. The plan of campaign was being formulated ### the week-end by the walkout leader, who is an unemployed teacher.
