The eleventh annual convention of the Young People’s League of the United Synagogue of America will open tonight for a three day session at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel. Delegates from young people’s groups affiliated with Conservative congregations throughout the country will be in attendance.

The convention will open with a special dinner and meeting of the executive council of the League and the convention committee, to be held at the Russian Inn, 1235 Locust street. Tomorrow, Washington’s birthday, will be devoted mainly to patriotic exercises which include the placing of a wreath on the Washington Statue at Parkway and Art Museum, Fair-mount Park.

The main business sessions of the convention will be held on Sunday. A luncheon will be held at noon when the convention will be officially opened by Gabriel Muller, national convention chairman. The opening prayer will be delivered by Rabbi Samuel Fredman and greetings will be extended to the delegates by Louis E. Levinthal, president, Philadelphia Branch of the United Synagogue of America; Irving Kopf, president, Philadelphia Federation of Jewish Junior Associations; Theodore Charnas, of New York City, president of the National Federation of Jewish Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs; Mrs. Samuel Spiegel, New York City, president of the Women’s League of the United Synagogue of America, and Louis J. Moss, Brooklyn, N. Y., president of the United Synagogue of America.

Following these greetings, the principal addresses of the convention will be delivered by Rabbi Max D. Klein and Bernard S. Karmatz, president of the Young People’s League.
