The chief justice of Alabama’s Supreme Court vowed a legal fight to keep a monument of the Ten Commandments in the Alabama judicial building. Chief Justice Roy Moore, who installed the monument, said through his lawyer that he would ask an appeals court to allow the 5,300-pound granite monument to stay where it is until the appeals process is completed.
