The Claims Conference voted to maintain its current division of Holocaust restitution money. Meeting Tuesday in New York, Claims Conference officials voted to continue allocating 80 percent of the $430 million from the sale of unclaimed East German Jewish property to needy Holocaust survivors. The remaining 20 percent is spent on Holocaust education, documentation and research. Some survivors’ groups had argued that a higher percentage of the money should go to survivors.
