The shofar resounded throughout Palestine today as thousands of Jews assembled in synagogues to deliver special prayers for their persecuted brothers in Germany. The special religious observations were ordered by the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine. The Tel Aviv municipal council dispatched to the Government a protest memorandum to be forwarded to the British Government. The council also adopted measures for the rescue of German-Jewish youth, including a plan of Miss Henrietta Szold, for adoption of the young emigres by families.
