The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a five-year extension of the Iran Libya Sanctions Act, a day after it was approved in the Senate. The White House had advocated a two-year extension of the act, which imposes sanctions on foreign firms that invest in either country’s energy sector. A White House spokesman said it is too early to tell whether the president will sign a five- year extension of the act, which expires early next month.
