The West German Social Democratic Party Tuesday reaffirmed Its long-standing support for Israel’s rights of viability and existence, A statement following a national committee meeting in Bonn said Israel’s right to existence and security was a precondition for any Middle East peace settlement. The SPD deplored the fact that Israel’s security had received no mention in last week’s UN Palestinian resolutions. It said it had always advocated the viability and security of all states and peoples in the Middle East. Without this, the spiral of suffering and terror would continue, the SPD stressed.
