The World Zionist Organization launched a campaign against Austria, calling on Jewish groups not to negotiate Holocaust-era restitution with the new government in Vienna. “After years of stonewalling on the issue,” the Austrian government, which includes the far-right Freedom Party, “has suddenly agreed to sit down with representatives of the Jewish world,” the WZO said in a statement. “We must not let the new government in Austria forget for a moment that its makeup is abhorrent.”
