Appointment of Thomas Reid, well-known colonial expert, as the fourth member of the Palestine Partition Commission was announced in the House of Commons today by Colonial Secretary William Ormsby-Gore.
Mr. Reid, who is 56 years old, is at present chairman of the League of Nations commission to superintend the elections at Sanjak and Alexandretta. He was for many years in the Ceylon Civil Service, where for four years to 1929 he was Labor Controller. He retired in 1931.
