After a conference which lasted until the early hours of this morning an agreement was reached between the Hebrew Master Bakers’Association and the International Bkers Union Local 181, Toronto, settling the short strike which began last Saturday night.
The terms of the agreement favor the union, guaranteeing an eight-hour day and a wage raise of &2 per week. Henceforth the pay of first-hands is to be &36 a week, of second-hands &32, and &28 for third-hands.
Bakers will resume work on Saturday.
