The incidence of tuberculosis has assumed alarming proportions in Israel and, unless checked, can become a serious danger, Dr. Dov Vardy, secretary of the British Tuberculosis League, said here today.
Dr. Vardy, who has just returned from a visit to Israel, ascribed this situation to the unparalleled immigration of the last few years, particularly from North Africa and Moslem countries, and to unsatisfactory housing conditions.
