The United Nations Relief Works Agency for Palestine Refugees recommended tonight a three-year $350,000, 000 program to assist “reintegration” of the refugees.
The Agency, in its report to the U.N. General Assembly, sets aside only $50,000, 000 for direct relief for the refugees. It suggests that local governments in the Middle East should each assume the maximum possible administrative responsibility for carrying out the program. It also urges that arrangements be made to transfer the relief administration to these governments not later than July 1, 1952.
