The Navy made known yesterday that it has agreed to reconsider the dismissal of Abraham Chasanow, of Greenbelt, Md., who was fired as a “security risk” from the Navy Hydrographic Office amidst circumstances which led major Jewish organizations to believe anti-Semitism might have been involved.
A Navy spokesman said Mr. Chasanow will be given an opportunity to present evidence to the Security Appeal Board so that he might try to prove himself innocent of charges. The decision to re-open the case followed the introduction of new evidence by Mr. Chasanow’s counsel.
