A resolution protesting against the recent anti-Semitic excesses in Poland was adopted here last night at the twenty-seventh annual convention of the Federation of Polish Jews in America.
The convention also adopted a resolution mourning the death of Marshal Josef Pilsudski.
“Marshal Pilsudski,” the resolution reads, “during his struggle for Poland’s liberation and later as its Marshal never discriminated against anyone because of his race or religion, although he never gave utterance to this guiding principle. In his memoirs he speaks of Jewish devotion and love for the cause of Poland’s liberation.”
The convention, in session at the Clarendon-Brunswick Hotel, is attended by 400 delegates. Today’s session was addressed by Mrs. Florence R. Dolowitz in beha# of the ORT, the organization to promote artisanship among Jews, and by Dr. Joshua Goldberg, in behalf of the American Jewish Congress.
Gershon Badder delivered an address eulogizing the late Zionist leaders Shmarya Levin and Chaim Nachman Bialik. Z. Tygel spoke in memory of Dr. Zemach Szabad and Dr. Z. Bychowski, late leaders of Polish Jewry.
The project advanced by Benjamin Winter, president of the Federation, to launch a separate relief campaign in America for Polish Jews, was warmly accepted by the delegates.
