The president of the Ukrainian Central Executive Committee, M. Petrovsky, urged today that certain categories of Jewish ex-traders be reinstated in their election rights similar to the reinstatement decided on by the Central Executive Committee in Moscow for the Jewish ex-traders of Central Russia. He made his recommendation at a meeting of the Central. Executive Committee’s secretarial where a number of speakers established that the situation of the declassed Jews in Ukrainia is more than catastrophic.
Petrovsky also emphasized the situation of the declassed Jewish youth, recommending that even those without election rights should be admitted to the factories. A member of the Central Executive Committee, M. Gorlinsky, suggested that the laws regarding voting rights be revised in favor of the Jewish declassed.
The recommendations of Petrovsky and Gorlinsky were approved and the technical committee of the Central Executive Committee will work out the details for the reinstatement of the declassed Jews.
