With the coming of the fall season, the Union of American Hebrew Congregations takes up afresh the movement for the Advancement of Judaism in the small unorganized communities, in a campaign in which 1,000 of these towns are to be visited.
The 1,000 towns selected for the Campaign contain from 20,000 to 40,000 Jews. Of these 5,000 are children. During the Campaign, attempts will be made to organize a Congregation, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, or Religious School for these Jews who were formerly isolated from any Jewish contact, or who, if they desired such contact, were forced to travel miles to find it.
