Unveil Memorial to British Soldiers at Gaza Cemetery

The first of the series of ceremonies marking the unveiling of memorials at the British war cemeteries in Palestine took place at Gaza.

High Commissioner Lord Plumer, unveiled the memorial erected in the cemetery of the soldiers of the 54th Division. Wreaths were laid on the graves on behalf of the High Commissioner, the British Imperial Graves Commission, the Jewish Legionaires and other organizations.

The second unveiling will take place at Ramleh on May 6 and the third in Jerusalem on May 7.
