President Alfredo Baldomir yesterday received a Jewish delegation for an interview during which he condemned anti-Semitism and promised to legalize the status of illegal immigrants.
Nazism and anti-Semitism have been vigorously denounced by democratic German groups here. Christian-Democratic and anti-Nazi Germans, through their organ Zeit, termed anti-Semitism "a cynical violation of the commandment to love one’s neighbor as one’s self." For that very reason "every honest Christian must combat it," the organ said.
The Independent German Club in a manifesto proclaimed its allegiance with the forces "fighting for liberation of enslaved people and, above all, for the liberation of our own (German) nation."
