Boycott of Jewish shops was urged openly and for the first time today by ex-Premier Vaida-Voevod as a part of his current campaign against the Jews.
The ex-premier also announced today that he contemplates formation of a Christian National Peasant party, in distinction to the National Peasant party, which ousted him from leadership.
IT’S UP TO LEAGUE
Only the League of Nations can solve the Jewish problem, Dr. Vaida-Voevod declared in an interview with the press, outlining his views on the Jews.
“The Jewish question,” he said, “cannot be solved by any one state. The problem must be examined by the League of Nations and one common solution found. It is clear to me that the national minorities must be subjected to the principal of proportional representation. In those parts where there is a large number of Jews the way out is emigration.”
TOO NUMEROUS IN PROVINCES
Emphasizing that he wants to offer the Jews “the same rights which the Rumanians demanded in the Hungarian Parliament,” the anti-Semitic ex-Premier stated that in his opinion there are too many Jews in Bessarabia, Moldavia, Bukowina and other Rumanian provinces.
“We don’t want the Jews to influence the spiritual life of Rumania,” he said.
