Various rumors are current because of the Inquiry Commission’s decision to postpone its departure for Palestine. While some explain that the Commission is desirous of avoiding additional excitement in connection with the approaching High Holidays, others claim that they have learned from well-informed circles that the matter is connected with Premier MacDonald’s visit to America. The British government is reluctant to risk demonstrations in Palestine while Premier MacDonald is in New York.
Once the Commission has started work in Palestine it is held that Arab demonstrations are likely to occur against the Commission’s work, which may be followed by Zionist demonstrations in the United States while the Premier is still there.
