Despatches from Rome quote the comment of the “Osservatore Romano,”official organ of the Vatican, on the Mexican situation.
The Osservatore says that President Calles chose as Home Minister “one of the most cunning mystifiers of the revolutionary movement,” and as Foreign Minister a “Protestant Jew who opened the gates in the most barefaced fashion to the immigration of his coreligionaries.”
