The final message of the fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943 before they were annihilated by the Nazis was a radio plea calling for the destruction of the forces which were attempting to destroy humanity, Dr. I. Schwartzbart, director of the organization department of the World Jewish Congress, declared in a broadcast here on the ninth anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.
Dr. Schwartzberg, who as a member of the Polish Government-in-Exile in 1943 received the last two messages from the Ghetto, warned that the message from the Ghetto fighters has special significance now “when the same forces of destruction are rising again.” In a second broadcast, in Yiddish, Dr. Schwartzbart explained the significance of the “great and unique” contribution of Warsaw Jewry to the Jewish cause.
