An appeal to Jewish communities throughout the world to observe the 13th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising which falls on April 8, was issued here today by the World Jewish Congress. In a circular letter addressed to communities in many countries. Dr. I Schwarzbart, head of the WJC Organization Department, said:
“There is a striking resemblance between the courage and fate of the fighters of Jerusalem, Masada, and Betar and the courage and fate of the fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, when they died in the bunkers. There is another parallel which is striking Vespasian and Titus, around 70 C. E., as well as Hadrian (117-138 C. E.) wanted to destroy the Jewish people because they dared to stand in the way of their dreams of an everlasting empire. The same lust for power and the same dream of an empire to last at least 1,000 years animated Adolf Hitler. Both empires crashed. The Roman Empire of Vespasian and Hadrian was overthrown, and the same fate befell the empire of Adolf Hitler, stretching from the Pyrences to Stalingrad.
