Jews and Communists are the same thing, the speakers urged at a mass meeting arranged jointly by the Cuzists and the Iron Guard organisation in the Atheneum, one of the largest halls in Bucharest, going on to eulogise the frontier guard at Soroca, for shooting down the six young Jews who were trying to cross the River Dnieper.
The participants in the meeting solemnly proclaimed a united national front “against Communism and Judaism”.
The demonstrators afterwards formed up and marched in procession through the streets carrying swastika flags, and shouting antisemitic cries.
The demonstration appears to have been arranged with a view to impressing Parliament, which is opening on Monday, in connection with an interpellation put down on the order paper by the Jewish and by the Socialist Deputies with regard to the Soroca outrage.
