A charge that the Warsaw city government is discriminating against Jewish workers was made at the open session of the City Council during the discussion of the budget for the year 1929.
Mr. Ehrlich, councillor representing the Jewish labor party, Bund, pointed out that of the 2,000 workers employed by the city government recently, only fourteen were Jewish. A resolution introduced by Councillor Abraham Lew, representing the Poale Zion, urging the president of the city to “cease the boycott against Jewish workers,” was defeated by a majority of 37 to 36.
