The Committee of Jewish Delegations decided today that the projected World Jewish Congress will be called before the end of 1936. Present at the meeting at which the decision was adopted was Abraham Goldberg, New York journallist and Zionist leader.
Mr. Goldberg, who arrived in Paris en route to New York from Palestine, was instructed to inform American-Jewish leaders that the European Jews would not insist on democratic elections for delegates to the world congress.
The idea of a congress representing Jews throughout the world is being pressed by the Committee of Jewish Delegations under the leadership of Rabbi Stephen S. Wise of New York.
