The immediate convocation of the Zionist General Council, supreme Zionist body next to the World Zionist Congress, was demanded today by the Jewish State Party of America in a cable sent to the Zionist executive in Jerusalem.
The cable emphasized that the “grave political situation in Zionism” makes on immediate meeting of the Council imperative. It urged that the Council be convoked “preferably in the United States otherwise in England,” Private discussions by leaders of Zionist groups cannot substitute for the Council, the Jewish State Party declared in the cable which was addressed to David Ben-Gurion, chairman of the World Zionist executive.
