Supervision over schools belonging to minority nationalities has been vested in the Latvian Inspector of Schools. Deputies representing the minorities in Parliament submitted protests against the infraction of school autonomy, schools having been under their control until Prime Minister Gailit’s last ruling.

Negotiations between the minority representatives and Dr. Walter, Latvian representative in the League of Nations, looking to the settlement of the outstanding differences between the minorities and the Government, have been broken off in consequence of the Premier’s action.
