The Minister of War and the Commission for Military Affairs today proposed that the Jews be barred from military service, and pay an exemption fee. Jewish deputies heatedly protested against this proposal declaring it to be unconstitutional as it would destroy their status as Polish citizens and open the door for the creation of a new ghetto.

Members of the Socialist and Peasant parties supported the Jews in denouncing this proposal.
